Blogmas day 4: My letter to Santa

Dear Santa,

It is that time of year again, the time of year where we start our holiday decorating and shopping. Also it is that time where the season brings out the best in people, we try to help those around us and show them love with our gifts. However it can also be the season that we have a tendency to get greedy and ask for way to many things. We easily forget what this time of year is truly supposed to mean.

These are people in my life that deserve a happy christmas this year:

My dad, who I love so much. He has been there for me even when I didn't deserve his love. Through my anger and heartbreak, he has been there. Despite his own stresses and downfalls, he has been there. He is the least selfish person I know and I am so grateful for him. My wish for my dad is for him to be happy and successful in life and his career.

My sister who I cannot thank enough for supporting me this year. She has helped me settle into a new home and town after a devastating break up. I don't know what I would have done without her. It makes me so happy to see how blessed she has become in the past few years. She deserves it after having a tough time herself four years ago. Now she is about to bless the family with a new son or daughter on Christmas day. I cannot begin to describe my excitement to meet my new niece or nephew. My christmas wish is for her labour to go smoothly, mother and baby to be healthy, and their big move to their amazing new home to go well.

My children saved my life. They make me smile, cuddle me when I am sad and keep me moving forward even when times are tough. I am so proud of them. They are working hard at school, becoming polite little gentlemen, and I rarely have to shout at them. They deserve to be the top of your list of children who have been good this year Santa.

This year Santa, I am not asking you for anything material. Only that the people above are safe, healthy, full of happiness and continue to be in my life. I love them so much. We are very much looking forward to you and your reindeers visiting us on Christmas eve. The  boys are making plans to leave you some presents to help you with your long, tiresome journey.

Thank you Santa,
Gem x
