Hello ☼
I was recently made aware by Brit mums of a really amazing competition celebrating 100 years of commercial flights. I really wanted to take part and talk out our dream holiday.
I have already been to India. I was extremely lucky to be able to visit Goa the year before I was pregnant with my first born son, Alfie in 2006. It is an absolutely stunning place. The colours, the smells, the hustle and bustle, the white sandy beaches, and the forests filled with wildlife. People around our hotel were extremely poor but they always had these giant beaming smiles. I admired them.
It was the animals that I encountered on my travels through Goa that have given me my dreams to return with the children. My youngest, Thomas loves elephants. He constantly wants to go to our local zoo to see them. The Indian elephant pictured above was so gentle and well cared for. If my children could ride him it would make their dreams come true. Their memories will last a life time.

While travelling through India I signed up for a trek to a waterfall. The weather was so humid so i couldn't wait to jump in. The path was covered in monkeys like the ones pictured above. We were given fruit to feed them which I loved so much. I have never been able to be that close to these beautiful creatures before. This is yet another amazing experience i want for my children.
I will never forget my trip to India. I regularly tell my boys stories from my adventure through the beautiful towns and beaches. They especially love hearing about the children I played with on the beach making beaded necklaces and the many dance parties that were held on the white sandy beaches.
Alfie and Thomas have never been on an aeroplane. With my situation at the moment, it is just impossible to afford to take them. We are in the beginning of the film UP, with the savings jar that constantly has to get smashed to pay the bills. India is definitely on the top of my children's travel bucket list. It will be such an amazing experience with memories that will last a life time. They will be able to tell their children the same stories as I told them.
This post is an entry for the #Flying100 Family Holiday Challenge found on Britmums.com , celebrating how flying allows us to make memories and ‘be there’, in association with #Flying100. Find out more at http://www.flying100years.com

That sounds beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIndia has always intrigued me and your description has made me want to go even more. It is so wonderful that you share these wonderful memories with your sons. I really hope you get to take them soon.
It reminds me of a trip we took to Krabi in Thailand. The landscape was amazing; with lush green mountains, crystal clear beaches, and monkeys everywhere! That was our last holiday before we had our own little monkeys :)
India is such a beautiful part of the world. I have never been to thailand but i guess its very similar to Goa. Would love to visit one day.
DeleteReally enjoyed your post and would like to visit India one day and I hope you can introduce your children to the country as you wish.
