#MySundayPhoto / The Black and White Photo Project

This is Cawsand, a village situated on the edge of Cornwall over looking Plymouth. My sister is lucky enough to live here so we visit often. It is the most peaceful, relaxing and beautiful village I have ever visited, especially in the winter. The majority of houses here are second homes for the rich and so only really get lived in the summer months. Most people call it a ghost town but I love that about it. That yellow house in the distance is my dream house and it will be mine eventually, even if it takes me fifty years to save. I normally only post a black and white photo on sundays but I wanted to show the beautiful colours of Cawsand village so decided to post both. Which one do you prefer?

    1. Thats why I wanted to add both. One to show the colours and one to highlight that it is a moody winter ghost village.

I think they're both interesting shots, although the B&W one really brings out the pattern and texture of the roof in the foreground.

  5. I love the colour in the first one, but there is something timeless and classic about the black and white, it makes me think of old movies and a quieter time x

    1. I thought the b&w suited the current mood of the village. It is so cold and there aren't many people living there at the moment.

  6. I love the texture of the black and white, but you get more of a feel of the village with the color. I hope you get your dream house :)

  11. I love Cawsand & Kingsand, it used to be a much visited area when my in laws lived in Cornwall and my BIL got married just up the coastal road. How lovely to have your sister live there! I love the little winding alleys and there used to be a lovely gift shop where we bought our coat hooks from - strange the things we remember! I like both images but the B&W certainly suits :)

What a beautiful view and such a pretty village. I love the contrast between the two photos - looks great in both colour and black and white but I think the colour one is my favourite.
