10/52: Saturday at the beach

On Saturday the boys and I decided to head to the local beach for a good run around. The weather man had promised us a sunny weekend so we had to make the most of it. It wasn't as sunny as I thought it was going to be when we woke up that morning but when I make plans, I can't change them. Even if it was raining I think we would have still gone down the beach.

We chose to head to Tregantle cliff beach on the Rame coast. It's a quite a trek down the cliffs but the beach is worth it. As soon as we arrived, the children ran straight for the sea as you can see from the photo above. The boys had so much fun chasing the incoming waves but tom a.k.a Harry Potter ended up getting his trousers a little bit wet.

We also spent some time writing our names in the sand which everyone has to do on a visit to the beach. Tom also wanted to run around casting spells on the sea, conjuring up sea shells and just generally having fun pretending to be Harry Potter for the day.

A mother and son moment.
The tide was very far out today and so we were able to walk the entire length of the beach without fear of getting stuck in between the rocks. We walked a fair distance to the point where I had worn the boys out completely. We found a nice clean area and just sat for half an hour catching our breath. The boys are dog spotting in the photo below. So many people were out today with their gorgeous puppies, mainly chocolate labs for some reason. They seem very popular round here. The children are extremely desperate for a dog of their own but at the moment we are just not in a stable situation. I would love a little spaniel though to take for a run down the beaches.

We finished our day with a quick mars bar to give us enough energy to walk back up the steep cliffs. We had such a lovely refreshing walk, I feel very blessed to live in such a gorgeous part of the world. I think we are going to make these beach walks a regular activity.

  2. Oh that does look like fun - and yes, go to the beach even when it's raining (because then when it stops you've got the whole beach to yourself!)

  7. Beautiful photos and that video is great, you can hear the shock in his voice from the cold water. I love beach photos even though I don't like the beach very much. Sand, it just gets everywhere. Love the shot of the boys sat taking in the world. Beautiful. #pointshoot
