This is Cawsand, a village situated on the edge of Cornwall over looking Plymouth. My sister is lucky enough to live here so we visit often. It is the most peaceful, relaxing and beautiful village I have ever visited, especially in the winter. The majority of houses here are second homes for the rich and so only really get lived in the summer months. Most people call it a ghost town but I love that about it. That yellow house in the distance is my dream house and it will be mine eventually, even if it takes me fifty years to save. I normally only post a black and white photo on sundays but I wanted to show the beautiful colours of Cawsand village so decided to post both. Which one do you prefer?
amazing how a colour change can make a place look so different x
ReplyDeleteThats why I wanted to add both. One to show the colours and one to highlight that it is a moody winter ghost village.
DeleteI think they're both interesting shots, although the B&W one really brings out the pattern and texture of the roof in the foreground.
ReplyDeleteI agree. I love how B&W brings out details.
DeleteBeautiful shot and I wish you well to own your dream yellow house on the sea.
ReplyDeleteThank you. It is such a lovely home.
DeleteLove the retro feel of the colour photo
ReplyDeleteI was playing around with filters and I thought this one suited the cottages the most.
DeleteI love the colour in the first one, but there is something timeless and classic about the black and white, it makes me think of old movies and a quieter time x
ReplyDeleteI thought the b&w suited the current mood of the village. It is so cold and there aren't many people living there at the moment.
DeleteI love the texture of the black and white, but you get more of a feel of the village with the color. I hope you get your dream house :)
ReplyDeleteI agree. I hope i get my dream house by the sea too. Everyone should have dreams right?
Deletei do like them both but the coloured one is better i think. what a wonderful looking village. good luck with your quest!
ReplyDeleteIts lovely. Thank you.
DeleteI think I prefer the colour image, but B&W goes with the ghost town theme.
ReplyDeleteThe colour image seems to be the most popular. I agree, the b&w definitely suits the mood.
DeleteOh these are gorgeous, looks like a pretty place x
ReplyDeleteThank you. Its breathtaking in real life.
DeleteGreat photo, love the rooftops. It certainly looks bliss x
ReplyDeleteThank you. x
DeleteI love Cawsand & Kingsand, it used to be a much visited area when my in laws lived in Cornwall and my BIL got married just up the coastal road. How lovely to have your sister live there! I love the little winding alleys and there used to be a lovely gift shop where we bought our coat hooks from - strange the things we remember! I like both images but the B&W certainly suits :)
ReplyDeleteoh wow, small world. Was it maker where they got married? or further along? I agree, the b&w really suits the winter atmosphere.
DeleteIn black and white it looks like such an old picture, love seeing it in the colour too though to know how beautiful it is, the perfect cornwall village. #bwphotoproject
ReplyDeleteIt is an old smugglers village so i thought the b&w would suit that.
DeleteWhat a great view, it works so well in b&w
ReplyDeleteThank you for linking up
Thank you. I like the b&w too. Thanks for hosting. :)
DeleteWhat a gorgeous place to live! Love the one with the colours personally, but the black and white is nice too! :)
ReplyDeleteWould love to live here but the house prices are very expensive which is understandable with this view.
DeleteWhat a beautiful view and such a pretty village. I love the contrast between the two photos - looks great in both colour and black and white but I think the colour one is my favourite.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful view! I'd love a walk on that beach.
ReplyDeleteIts lovely. The beaches are very popular, even in the winter.
DeleteLove your sunday photo :-) What a beautiful place.
ReplyDeleteThank you
DeleteLovely village indeed! #bwphotoproject
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful. I can't wait to live there one day.
DeleteLooks so different in each colour choice, looks like a love place to visit #MySundayPhoto
ReplyDeleteIt is lovely, one of the nicest villages in Cornwall.
DeleteI love how both pictures look so different and yet they are the same! Best of luck wish your dream of one day owning the yellow house!xx
ReplyDeleteIt will be mine one day. :)
DeleteWhat a view! Just beautiful x
ReplyDeleteI love it. There is a bench there where i like to sit for ages.
DeleteWhat a lovely view! Just the type of place I love.
ReplyDeleteIts beautiful. Very popular in the summer.
DeleteWow!
ReplyDeleteYou don't hear this place mentioned often, I got married just around the corner in Polhawn Fort and this is where all my guests stayed - beautiful place! xx
