They look like they are having fun protecting Plymouth's coast there :-)
Yes they have a great imagination
I know where you are! Still chuckling over us both going so recently.
I know it wasn't until i went to grab your badge and link up that i noticed we went to the same place.
It looks almost as if they are having a competition - although I'm not sure that loading up the cannon with balloons is going to be very effective ... ;-)
They were. The oldest one said he won because he had the balloons to take down the sail boat in the distance.
What a view!
It is lovely.
Looks like an amazingly fun time there I know I would love to be playing at fighting off the invaders never mind how much the kids would enjoy it.
I am not the only one who would play with the cannons then. lol :)
Hey, if you come across canon, you just have to give 'em a go.
You just have to. So much fun.
Are the balloons cannons?! xx
Yes the oldest was pretending his balloons were the cannon balls and was using them to shoot down the sail boat in the distance.
Can you imagine the racket they must have made! :D
There are some across the water that get used for reenactments. They are very loud, can hear them for miles.
Great fun, imagining playing with cannons, and love the photo in black and white. It's almost like it reflects history better.
There is a lot of history behind the cannons so I agree they look better in black and white. The children had great fun playing with them.
Loving the balloons-they sit perfectly alongside the canons :)
They were pretending the balloons were the cannon balls :)
What strikes me is the sign - no diving no tomb-stoning ...yikes!
The teenagers here still do it. They are crazy.
Great photo, they must have been scary things years ago x
Yes, I think they have a lot of history.
Z loves these, he kept trying to look inside one! :)
My children do to. I guess they are seeing if there is any ammunition left.
In my head there is a scene where the soldiers are firing this cannons. Amazing! #bwphotoproject
